You will also notice that in each Ridge Racer there is a helicopter watching the action as well as some other small little touches. There are still areas of Ridge City and it's road ways that are the same as they were in the first couple games including the right turn inland from the coast, the tunnel section and the large downtown building you drive through. In ridge Racer V, Ridge City has become a huge metropolis with skyscrapers sprawling where roads and nature coexisted just a few games ago. This continuity from game to game is one of the subtle things that make this series so cool. New buildings popped up gradually over the course of the series with several landmarks and sections of course (certain corners) remaining the same from game to game. In the first game Ridge City was only a small coastal town but with each new game the city grew. Ridge City, the location of every Ridge Racer game has evolved right along with the graphics and the size of the game. We do briefly talk about each one though. In fact you�ll get to know these tracks so well that you will be able to race them blindfolded. The only thing we don�t thoroughly cover is the individual tracks and that�s because you will get more than enough practice racing the courses in the various modes to unlock everything in the game. ![]() Heck, we even reveal the secrets in the game. If you liked the unique feel of Ridge Racer and Ridge Racer Revolution found both in the arcade and on the PlayStation as well as the third in the series, Rage Racer found on the PlayStation then you�ll love Ridge Racer V. There aren�t as many cars, (by a long shot) as there were in R4 and over all they handle more like the cars in the first games. In ways it�s even a step back from Ridge Racer Type 4. Even with the advanced graphics the new PlayStation can pump out and the highly refined car handling the game is still quintessentially a Ridge Racer game. This latest addition to the prestigious Ridge Racer series of games is finally here.
